Have Questions About Dentures?
- Are dentures the right choice for me?
Dentures usually make the most sense for patients who’re missing many teeth, if not all of them.
If you are only missing one or a few teeth, there may be better options, such as dental bridges or implants.
When you come in for a consultation, our expert dentists will examine your smile and make recommendations for your specific needs.
- What is the process for receiving dentures?
Once it’s determined dentures are the right missing teeth solution for you, we’ll start by taking impressions and measurements of your gums and mouth to create a template for your new teeth.
We’ll then send these records to a professional dental lab. The lab will custom-craft the framework of your dentures based on your unique measurements.
Once we receive your dentures back from the lab, you’ll try them on and we’ll adjust them until they fit just right. Once we’ve dialed in the fit, we’ll send the dentures back to the lab for final processing.
You’ll soon have a custom set of beautiful new teeth you can be proud of!
- Does wearing dentures hurt?
It’s normal for your dentures to feel a bit awkward for the first few weeks as you adjust to wearing them. Any minor discomfort usually goes away on its own.
If your dentures are painful and the discomfort doesn’t go away, the fit will likely need to be adjusted. Our team wants you to love your new smile. If your dentures don’t fit like a perfect glove, let us know and we’ll fix it!
- How much do dentures cost?
Each person’s smile and tooth replacement needs are unique, so we can’t quote an exact price that works for everyone.
For example, some people may need only a partial set of dentures. Others may need a full set of dentures and everything in between. There may also be different costs associated with any preparation required to get your smile ready for dentures.
When you come in for a consultation, our helpful dental team will evaluate your needs and provide you with an accurate estimate of costs.
We believe costs should never stop you from getting the high-quality dental care and teeth replacement solutions you need. That’s why we offer many payment and insurance options to fit your budget, including credit cards and financing.
Check out our New Patients page for all the details.
- How do I care for my dentures?
Dentures require special daily care…Opens in a new window to article from Mayo Clinic… to keep them clean, stain-free, and looking great.
Dentures are removable, so you’ll usually rinse them after eating and soak them overnight in a special denture solution.
It’s important to avoid abrasive cleaning materials, such as harsh toothpaste with whitening or stiff-bristled toothbrushes.
As a patient of ours, we’ll walk you through the process of caring for your dentures and answer any questions you may have.
As always, you’ll want to come in for check-ups every six months at a minimum to keep your smile in great condition!
